Located along the southern region of the East Port of Spain district, the masterplan aims to enhance and regenerate local communities with a rich history of cultural traditions and creativity, demonstrated by numerous locations of historic importance throughout the area. Through exploring concepts of inter-connectivity and the configuration of a diverse programme framework, the masterplan promotes the concept of creating a place of vibrancy, increased social interactivity and exchange.
Covering approximately 11 hectares and configured around a new regional urban park, the masterplan aims to encapsulate and celebrate achievements in sporting excellence and create a new symbolic reference point for the creative arts and culture in Port of Spain. Located on the masterplan's western edge, a mixed-use programme or 'micro city' occupies a linear strip comprised of housing, retail, workshops, nursery, community hall and public space creating a social and economically vibrant local community.
