The Parula House focuses on the re-thinking and re-configuration of elements of the traditional Caribbean home while enabling a close connection with the rich surrounding rainforest and coastline landscape.

Central to this are the sequence of informal and formal spaces which play a vital role in the functional and experiential qualities of each home.

At ground level, a slender footprint enveloped by an exposed concrete frame, reduces the overall impact on the surrounding landscape while providing seamless access and views to the rear garden, adjacent swimming pool and lounge area.

The elevated position of the upper floor further enhances the experiential quality of the interior living spaces, encouraging interaction with the adjacent forest canopies and fauna.
